  • A truck loader is a very large leaf vacuum that has a hose to suck up leaves, and a discharge chute to expel the debris into a truck or trailer.  The debris is then hauled away and dumped or composted.
  • Truck loaders manufactured by Billy Goat and Little Wonder are in stock at Do-Cut Sales & Service, and sold at the best prices, every day.  These truck loaders have engines made by Honda or Briggs & Stratton Vanguard.
  • To be effective, a leaf and debris truck loader should be no less than 13 hp, but when you need to move leaves fast, the more horsepower the better.  Truck loaders range from 13 hp up to 37 hp.
  • Smaller truck loaders can be mounted on a truck’s tailgate using a correct bracket/hanger, or skid-mounted, and have an 8 inch by 10-foot intake hose with a handle.
  • Medium sized truck loaders are usually skid-mounted and placed on the tongue of a trailer, or inside the bed of a truck. These have a 10 inch by 10-foot intake hose with a handle.  Medium sized truck loaders can also be mounted on a swing arm.  You need a good size Class III receiver hitch, 2 inches square, for this type of truck loader mount. Swing arm mounts are handy because you can swing the truck loader out of the way to dump your truck, or unload the trailer.
  • Large truck loaders are tow behind truck loaders.  These truck loaders are mounted on highway-ready trailers with highway wheels, special axles, rear taillights, and a special towing hitch.   The vacuum hose on a tow behind truck loader is 12 inches by 10-foot.
  • When towing a truck loader, you’ll need to remove or secure the vacuum hose for safety purposes.  The largest truck loaders are tow behind, self-contained and are a truck loader and trailer all in one.
  • A tow behind self-contained truck loader is ideal for a large estate, municipality, or landscape professionals who offer curbside pick-up of leaves.  These truck loaders hold between 5 and 10 yards of chopped debris, depending on which size tow behind truck loader you choose.
  • Tow behind truck loaders are powered with either 29 hp or 35-36 hp motors.
  • Additional features on a self-contained 10-yard truck loader include: Easy dumping trailers, easy hitch-and-go system, heavy-duty axles, and tires, along with a 16 inch by 10-foot intake hose.  The largest 10-yard model truck loader has a trailer that can also be used to haul up to 5 tons.
  • The top walls of this self-contained truck loader are removeable, so the trailer can be used anytime of the year, not just during the fall when the truck loader is in use.  The 10-yard truck loader also has a hydraulic lift to dump debris at a 50-degree angle.
  • Little Wonder Monster Truckloaders are equipped with shredding teeth on all three debris touch points on the edges of the impeller. This provides the best shredding ratio of any truck loader in the industry at 15:1. Some truck loaders also have handy tool racks for transporting hand tools like rakes, shovels, and straight handled tools, etc.  There are also safety kits and LED light kits available for Little Wonder Truckloaders – check out truck loader accessories before you buy, so your truck loader can be customized for your needs.
  • Billy Goat truck loaders have a dual shredding Piranha blade with “teeth” on the outer edge of the impeller, plus additional shredding teeth added to the center of the impeller.
  • Billy Goat also offers a rotational kit for certain truck loader models that allows the square discharge chute to be rotated 360 degrees, vs. 90 degree fixed standard positions.  This feature is handy when you don’t have a dump bed or dump trailer, because you can easily reposition the truck loader and use it to suck out the truck bed or trailer and discharge the leaves with pinpoint accuracy.
  • Billy Goat truck loaders also have clear intake hoses so it’s easy to see the debris, especially if it gets stuck in the truck loader hose.
  • Some truck loaders have replaceable wear liners that line the impeller housing to prevent damage if debris of any kind gets stuck.  There are also extension kits for the discharge chute stack on a truck loader.
  • Accessories like an extension kit or rotational kit are key when designing the specific mount for your truck loader application.  When designing the truck or trailer bed for a truck loader, you must consider where the discharge chute will meet and go into the trailer - as the truck loader discharge chute is not always centered, and this is where the extension kit can come in handy.
  • If the discharge arm of the truck loader that goes into your truck or trailer isn’t long enough, there is also additional flex hosing that can be added. Even metal flex dryer vent hosing works well, you just have to be sure that hose is securely fastened to the truck loader discharge chute for transport as well as use.
  • Most all truck loaders are equipped with an arm and chain that hold the intake hose so it can be easily controlled with the handle, by the operator. This arm and chain must be secured on the truck loader before transporting.  They can be locked in place somewhere on the truck loader, or easily removed and placed securely in the truck or trailer.

What are you waiting for?  Adding a truck loader to your business will not only be a lifesaver, but a back saver as well.  A truck loader will pay for itself with the extra revenue it brings to your landscaping business.

If the fall season weather isn’t favorable, those leaves aren’t disappearing under the snow, and they will greet you soggy and wet in the spring.  Only a top quality, heavy-duty truck loader will do the job.
