Handheld Leaf Vacs are Available from Do-Cut with Gasoline Engines or Battery Powered Motors.  

• Stihl battery powered handheld vacs are within their professional series of handheld vacs.  These require a separate purchase of the battery and charger.  
• Gasoline powered, handheld leaf vacs are available from Stihl and Husqvarna.  The great thing about these units is that they can also be a handheld blower, since it is very easy to convert from a handheld vac to a handheld blower.  
• These handheld leaf vacs require a 50:1 gas/oil mixture for the engine.  2-cycle oil is a special oil that is mixed with gasoline to provide proper lubrication to the engine.  It is also very important to use ethanol free gas in these small engines.  Always be sure to start the season with a fresh gas/oil mixture and be sure to run your handheld vac out of gas at the end of the season. 
• Handheld vacs are super convenient to have around the house and to use around the yard. They come with a large bag and shoulder strap so you’re not dragging around the bag.  
• Use your leaf vac around your pool so less debris falls in the water, and suck leaves out of your groundcover for easy clean up.  Your handheld vac can also reach leaves and debris in the hard-to-reach corners of your garage or shed. 
• The impeller inside the housing of your handheld leaf vac will shred the leaves as they pass through it.  The dryer the leaves, the more your handheld vac will shred.  Be careful not to pick up acorns or stones that could damage the impeller in your leaf vac.

• The dryer the leaves, the more compaction and reduction you will have when you use the leaf vac.  If the leaves are wet, your walk-behind vac will not shred them as well.  
• There is an adjustment for the height of the nozzle on the vac too.  If the leaves are deep, you can raise the nozzle to accommodate for the depth, or lower the nozzle if you’re cleaning a solid surface like your driveway, garage floor or pool deck.  
• The vac bag is securely attached to the exhaust area of the housing and hangs from the handles.  The bag used on a walk-behind vac has a large, heavy-duty zipper to easily empty its contents.  Some walk behind vac bags are available with removeable liners, which makes emptying the vac bag much easier and cleaner.
• Remote hose kits are also an option on walk behind vacs. The remote hose kit basically closes off the intake nozzle with a plate, and a 4” hose with a handle is installed to reach into flower beds, and hard to reach areas.
• Walk behind vacs for trash pickup are also available.  They have a higher height adjustment on the nozzle, and sometimes can be equipped with a magnetic bar to pick up cans for example that may be littering a parking lot.  These walk-behind vacs are great for commercial areas where a lot of trash and debris can accumulate; parking lots, sports stadiums and other venues.  Trash walk-behind vacs are also equipped with large, heavy-duty bags that have heavy-duty zippers to easily empty the debris.
